Malaysian scouts returned safely despite arrival of Typhoon Kanun

Approximately 500 Malaysian scouts who are currently attending the World Scout Jamboree are anticipated to stay in South Korea despite the impending arrival of Typhoon Khanun tomorrow. Earlier reports indicated the participation of around 43,000 Scouts from 155 countries in the event located in the Northern Jeolla region.

However, a recent heatwave in the country resulted in thousands of participants falling ill, prompting withdrawals from ongoing activities, especially from attendees representing the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US).

Zurinna Raja Adam, a 43-year-old mother of one of the jamboree participants, mentioned that both the Malaysian Embassy in South Korea and the Malaysian Scout contingent have been actively sharing information with parents while prioritizing the safety of the participants.
